Picture for a moment a spectrum ranging from a very simple, one CRF observational study (say far "left") to a multi-stage adaptive clinical trial (far "right"). As a you move left to right in this spectrum, the data management sophistication needs to change to meet the demands of the study. My question is where in this spectrum does REDcap start reaching its limits? Also, to ensure the correct data management tool is used for a project, has anyone developed a flow diagram to help guide researchers through the process of determining if REDcap will meet the data management requirements of a particular study? I know informally that items such as unscheduled visits and 1:many relationships (such as AEs & conmeds) are examples where special considerations are required. I'm curious if there are other issues that have come up that might inform users of the limits of REDcap.
