Q: I am trying to play around with the Excel tool I downloaded from http://mustat.rockefeller.edu/downloads.php, but I am not able to paste any data into it. Warm regards, Julia

A: Dear Julia, To avoid formulae to be overwritten, most parts of the spreadsheets are protected, but you should be able to paste both values and formatting into the white area in the upper left corner.

Q: Thank you. Now, I clicked on the "sort by UScr" button, but nothing is happening.

A: For the sort macro to work, you need to enable macros. Go to Tools/Options/Security/Macro_Security/Security_Level, change the setting to "medium" and restart Excel.

Q: I have some sample data I am trying to evaluate using the tool I downloaded, but I can't format the data.

A: I would recommend that you use short names for variables. If the existing formatting fits the data you may use Copy/Special/Values to copy it into the tool spreadsheet. Otherwise, you may copy the whole white area into a data spreadsheet, make all value and format changes there, and then copy the area back into the tool spreadsheet.
