Topics Description The first part of this talk will review the consulting services offered by the Division of Biostatistics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. This talk will review the basic questions you should consider when planning a study, or seeking statistical help and advice. The second part will focus on some basic concepts of creating a research database. The best of research plans can be ruined by poor data collection, and a little time spent creating a good database will pay off with better results. This talk will review types of data, the difference between a spreadsheet and a database, some critical, How-To's and Do-Not's and Tricks, and what resources are available to make your research project better.
