For the last five years the FDA and pharmaceutical companies have been trying to develop a statistical graphics working group to improve and share best practices in developing statistical graphics. There were many hurdles to overcome in order to share material across sites and ensure that no proprietary information or data would be included on this site. Trust and a joint collaborative environment were required. It would have been difficult to create this site without the CTSpedia. Through CTSpedia academic support and a wiki platform, space is provided to facilitate respectful interactions. No one owns the graph but rather shares their insights. Individuals are contributing graphic templates, along with programming code. In addition, as the site has evolved, guidelines are being developed for what constitutes a good graphic and what is involved in the continuum of decisions that need to be made when choosing a graphic to illustrate clinical, particularly safety, parameters for drug studies. |
