Description of Success |
A conference on Recruitment for Clinical Trials was held in Oct. 2010 and attended by over 250 individuals. Case studies were presented on subjects without decisional capacity, children/adolescents, industry-sponsored surgical studies, and genetics. Panels discussed biobanks and sample banks, as well as controversial recruitment. In the latter category, the focus was on recruitment in economically under-developed countries, and how the IRB affects the recruitment process. This conference stimulated discussion and provided information to investigators involved in clinical trials. The BERD organized and ran the conference. |
