Title Integrity in Research: Avoiding and Investigating Research Misconduct
Topics Description Addresses the importance of conducting ethical research. Defines, what Misconduct in Research is and provides examples of individuals who have engaged in actions that were determined to be research misconduct. Explains the investigative steps if a Preliminary Assessment reveals that an Inquiry is needed, and based on the report findings if a Full investigation is necessary. This presentation stresses the need to educate faculty and mentor future scientists to avoid the pressures that may lead to making poor judgments in conducting scientific research.
