Topics Description Semester Course Schedule – The learning objectives addressed in this course are: Review history in scientific research specifically focused on abuses of humans in clinical research. The evolution of national and international codes and regulations created to protect humans in clinical research. Explain the list of elements that make up the consent form and how to write in an understandable language. Describe the procedures and precautions for enrolling special populations in clinical research (i.e., children, or persons with dementia). Understanding what scientific misconduct means and how to recognize the different forms it may take. Develop strategies to develop one’s own research project.
